Pageant Rules & Regulations

 

1. The Dance Pageant is open to all females who have an interest in dance and performing (individuals, schools and studios).

 

2. All individual dancers must qualify to the following age classifications: 9-13 years of age.

 

3. Chosen contestants must be available for Pageant Coaching and Rehearsals on Sunday afternoons in July-August 2016 to take part in pageant events across the GTA. Each contestant will be provided with branded gear to represent Mini Miss Diva 2016. 

 

4. All chosen contestants must send a 2 paragraph biography in third person with the completed application form along with a professional head shot.

 

5. Each chosen contestant is responsible to find her own personal pageant sponsorships of $100 that will be counted towards the Miss Popularity category.

 

6. As this is a children’s dance pageant all choreography must be appropriate to uphold integrity of the Pageant (no inappropriate gestures while dancing; all explicitness in music must be censored).

 

7. A copy of the music must be submitted on CD by Nov. 4th, 2016. If contestant needs their music to be mixed, Diva Diverse’s DJ can do so at a fee of $25+hst. Music to be mixed must be provided to Diva Diverse no later than Oct 21st, 2016.  

 

8. Points will be distributed as follows in grading scheme below:

*Group Performance- 15 point

*Introduction Speech- 10 points

*Creative Character Wear- 20 points

*Solo Performance- 25 points

*Freestyle Performance- 20 points

*Elegance Wear- 10 points

 

9. Points will be deducted for any dance that goes over the allotted time limit. A late arrival on stage will also result in a penalization of 5 points.

10. Chosen contestants will be provided 1 costume for group performance. All contestants must have their own SILVER heels for group performance. 

 

11. All contestants must arrive at the venue at 2pm on Friday Nov. 25th 2016 (Pageant date) and report to the Backstage Coordinator upon arrival.

 

12. Each contestant is allowed 1 chaperone backstage up until the pageant officially begins (6:00pm). These are the only adults allowed backstage. Chaperones must wear identification bracelets at all times.

        

13. The pageant organizers must approve any and all stage props.

 

14. The pageant organizers are not responsible for any lost or stolen goods.

  

15. The pageant organizers have all rights to use any photos, videos, and any materials for advertisement relating to this competition.

  

16. The adjudicators’ decisions are final.
